File Under "If Bush Had Done It…" (Updated)

Read these words carefully, and know that this is straight from WhiteHouse.gov.

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care.  These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation.  Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

Don’t believe me?  Here’s a screen shot, followed by a crop down to the actual paragraph.  (I post these merely because I want to be sure that if it is not at the above link, you can see it.

If there’s something “fishy” being said, you should report it to the government???
Is this America or Oceania?
Besides, if Obama isn’t even sure he’ll read the behemoth 1,000+ page bill, how can he be sure that what people are saying isn’t true?
Update (8/5/09):  reason.tv has a response that I found to be pretty clever.
